Blackjack strategy calculator
Pick your two cards and the dealer's card. You'll see the best play and what hitting, standing, doubling and splitting are each worth, worked out with the same engine Blackjack Lens uses at live tables.

Rules: 8 decks, dealer stands on soft 17, blackjack pays 3:2, double on any two cards, double after split, no surrender, dealer checks for blackjack. Fresh shoe. Average results are per €100 bet.
How to read the result
Each number is the average result of that play if you played this exact hand many times, for a €100 bet. A minus means you lose money on average. Most hands lose on average; the best play is simply the one that loses least or wins most. Doubling and splitting put more money on the table, so their numbers are for your total stake.
Why the best play changes at a live table
This calculator assumes a full, freshly shuffled shoe. At a live table, every card already dealt changes the odds for the next hand. Close decisions, like 16 against a 10 or taking insurance, flip back and forth with the true count. See the basic strategy chart for the plays to memorise, and wonging for when the count matters most.
Questions people ask
How does the blackjack strategy calculator work?
Pick your two cards and the dealer's up card. The calculator shows the best play and the average result of hitting, standing, doubling and splitting, calculated for a fresh 8-deck shoe with the rules most live dealer tables use.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every hand was calculated with the same odds engine Blackjack Lens uses at live tables. Hit, stand and double are exact for the cards left after your hand and the dealer card; splits are simulated over 100,000 hands.
Does the best play change during a shoe?
Yes. The calculator assumes a fresh shoe. As cards come out the best play for close hands can change, which is what card counters use and what Blackjack Lens recalculates live.
Is this the same as the basic strategy chart?
Almost always. Basic strategy charts give one answer per total; this calculator uses your exact two cards, so on a few very close hands (such as 16 against a 10) the composition of your hand can tip the answer.
